Stephen Emmott

Professor Stephen Emmott is Head of Computational Science at Microsoft Research and Professor of Computational Science at University of Oxford. Microsoft Research’s Computational Science Laboratory in Cambridge, which he set up and leads aims to pioneer new computational approaches, methods and tools to enable, make and accelerate fundamental advances in science in areas of societal importance.

One of its areas of research is the Computational Ecology and Environmental Science Group which focuses on enabling, making and accelerating fundamental advances in the understanding of, and ability to predict the impact of future changes to, the global climate and ecological systems and processes: Earth’s life support system.
