The return of our successful behind-the-scenes workshops for people who live and work in Tottenham and Pimlico, as part of our three-year projects in those two areas. This year we will be offering the following: Development/Fundraising - 23 Mar, 7pm Development Manager Clare O'Hara and Development Officer Nadia Vistisen Gain insight into how the Royal Court raises money for its productions and look at accessible and original ways for you to raise funds for your own artistic endeavours. We'll also run a short session on networking and making the ask. International - 30 Mar, 7pm With Associate Director (International), Richard Twyman An introduction to the International Department: an Introduction to the world. Some games and facts to discover the the work we do in far reaching parts of the world and the stories that have never been told before. After the First Draft - 6 Apr, 7pm Deputy Literary Manager, Louise Stephens You've finished the first draft of your brand-new play – what next? This workshop will help you answer questions such as, how to know your play is ready to share with other people and who to ask for feedback, where to send your work and what to write in a covering letter. Marketing - 13 Apr, 7pm With Marketing Manager, Dion Wilson An introduction to planning and delivering a marketing campaign for a theatre production. Using a previous Royal Court campaign as an example, we'll look at all the different things we do to promote a show, from copy and imagery to video trailers and social media, leaving you with some creative tips for promoting your own work. Venue Management - 20 Apr, 7pm With Theatre Manager, Rachel Dudley You've written a play or have made an event, you've raised your money, marketed your event, but how do you make sure your event run smoothly on the night? Rachel Dudley, Theatre manager at the Royal Court, will give you an introduction of how to ensure your venue meets Health & Safety, Fire legislation and is ready to receive your audience for a smooth running show. Stage Management - 26 Apr, 7pm What does a Stage Manager do as part of their job? Travel the world, apply fake tattoos to actors bodies, make fake alcohol and food props, find unusual props at early morning markets and sometimes get fed cake learning lines at a famous actors home… To book your free place email ChrisSonnex@royalcourttheatre.com.
