CAST ANNOUNCED FOR NARRATIVE BY ANTHONY NEILSON AT ROYAL COURT THEATRE
The cast has been announced for Anthony Neilson’s new play Narrative at the Royal Court Theatre. Zawe Ashton, Imogen Doel, Brian Doherty, Christine Entwisle, Barnaby Power and Oliver Rix will work with Anthony Neilson in the rehearsal room to create a new play opening in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs on 5 April (press night 10 April).

Zawe Ashton last appeared at the Royal Court in Gone Too Far, Rhinoceros and The Arsonists and was also part of the Young Writers Festival in 2009 with a staged reading of her play For all Those Women who Thought they were Mad. Her most recent credits include the film documentary-drama Dreams of a Life and on television Channel 4’s Fresh Meat , Misfits and BBC’s Case Histories.
Imogen Doel last appeared at the Royal Court in Anthony Neilson’s Get Santa. Her recent credits include Serpent’s Tooth at the Almeida, Marat/Sade and A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the RSC and Notes to Future Self at Birmingham Rep.
Brian Doherty is making his Royal Court debut. His recent credits include Famine at Druid Theatre and Little Eagles, Antony and Cleopatra, King Lear, The Drunks, Julius Caesar, Winters Tale, and God In Ruins at the RSC
Christine Entwisle last appeared at the Royal Court in The Gambler Show and Anthony Neilson’s The Wonderful World of Dissocia. Her other credits include Romeo and Juliet, As You Like It and Morte d’Artur at the RSC.
Barnaby Power last appeared at the Royal Court in Anthony Neilson’s The Wonderful World of Dissocia. His other credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Edinburgh Lyceum, Somersaults at National Theatre of Scotland.
Oliver Rix is making his Royal Court debut. His credits include I Am A Camera at Southwark Playhouse , Cardenio and Marat/Sade at the RSC.
Anthony Neilson’s new play will be the final production in Dominic Cooke’s final season at the Royal Court before he steps down as Artistic Director in April 2013. Anthony Neilson’s The Wonderful World of Dissocia was part of Cooke’s inaugural season in 2007.
Anthony Neilson’s work at the Royal Court includes Get Santa!, Relocated, The Wonderful World of Dissocia (winner Best Production in both the TMA and Critics’ Awards for Theatre in Scotland), Heredity, The Lying Kind and The Censor, which won the Writers Guild and Time Out Award. His other work includes Edward Gant’s Amazing Feats of Loneliness (Headlong Theatre), Stitching (The Traverse, The Bush – Time Out Off West End Award) and Normal (Edinburgh Festival). His films include The Debt Collector and Deeper Still.
The production will be designed by Garance Marneur, with lighting by Chahine Yavroyan and music and sound by Nick Powell.
