Hangmen receives the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Best Foreign Play Award

Hangmen has been awarded Best Foreign Play from the New York Drama Critics’ Circle. Members of the New York Drama Critics’ Circle met on 3 May 2018 to determine the winners of its 83nd annual awards.

Written by Martin McDonagh and directed by Matthew Dunster, Hangmen opened at the Royal Court in 2015 before transferring to the West End. It was produced by Robert Fox, Matthew Byam Shaw for Playful Productions and Royal Court Theatre Productions. The New York transfer opened at the Atlantic Theater Company in January 2018.

Following on from the successful transfers of Martin McDonagh’s Hangmen and Lucy Kirkwood’s The Children, the Royal Court Theatre productions of David Ireland’s Cyprus Avenue, Dennis Kelly’s Girls & Boys and Jez Butterworth’s The Ferryman will also transfer to New York in 2018.
