Beyond the Court presents People of Pimlico, a series of short films exploring perspectives from the community in Pimlico.

Filmmaker Alice Russell has spent the last five months documenting the stories of Pimlico residents. People of Pimlico is the culmination of the three-year project Beyond the Court. The project aims to have a lasting creative impact on Tottenham and Pimlico with cohorts of artists, technicians and cultural leaders forming companies to commission and produce their own new pieces of work.

Royal Court Artistic Associate Chris Sonnex commented:

“Over the last three years we have been lucky to be accepted into the hearts of the community of Pimlico. Meeting wonderfully interesting people with many stories to tell. Over the last few months filmmaker Alice Russell and the Royal Court team have been finding out some of these peoples stories and documenting them into small films, from the heart-breaking, to the inspirational, to silly joyousness, we’ve documented a real slice of Pimlico. These films made by Pimlico for Pimlico in Pimlico will be screened in the heart of the community in the Churchill Gardens estate – come and see them there.”

A trailer of the 5 films is available to view here.

Screenings will be on Thursday 26 October, Friday 27 October and Saturday 28 October. They will be every 30 minutes from 5pm to 8pm at a pop up venue in the heart of Pimlico: adjacent to Johnson Place, directly off Lupus Street, Pimlico, SW1V.

The event is free with each screening limited to 10 people. Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled screening time. If a screening is already full, you will be welcomed into the one straight after.
