Royal Court Theatre shortlisted for the 2026 Empty Space Peter Brook Award

The Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Upstairs has been included in the shortlist nominees for the Empty Space Peter Brook Award 2026.

The prize was founded by Blanche Marvin in 1989 to honour smaller venues with little or no public funding, and was revived in 2023 by the Critics’ Circle Awards. The Award is now run in Marvin's memory by her daughter, Niki, and this year's list of nominees have been chosen by a judging panel handpicked by the Marvin family.

The award  will be presented as part of the Critics’ Circle Awards at a ceremony at the National Theatre on Thursday 26th March.
