Indian Readings Panel Discussion

Indian Readings Panel Discussion Top / Details
Join all of our Indian playwrights for a discussion on new writing in contemporary India, chaired by the Royal Court's Literary Manager Chris Campbell. Continue the conversation with complimentary light Indian refreshments in the Royal Court Balcony Bar. The Panel Discussion is part of the "New Plays from India": - a week of rehearsed readings by five Indian writers. New Plays in India, in collaboration with Rage Productions, Mumbai, began in 2010 with 12 writers from all over India who were selected to write a play asking urgent questions about their changing country. Over 18 months, playwrights April De Angelis and Carl Miller and Royal Court Associate Director Elyse Dodgson worked with the writers to develop their plays, which were performed as part of the Writers Bloc Festival at the Prithvi Theatre, Mumbai, in January 2012. Five of these plays have been chosen to now be performed in English as rehearsed readings at the Royal Court Theatre. Produced by the International Department International Playwrights: A Genesis Foundation Project
