The Royal Court Theatre and Orange Juice Productions present War Face
By Georgie Dettmer, created with the company. Directed by Jess Edwards. The show
At the Royal Hospital Chelsea, a community of British Army veterans reflect on lives shaped by service.
Weaving together real experiences across generations, War Face is a brand-new play by Georgie Dettmer, created with serving and retired soldiers. Directed by Jess Edwards, reuniting with Dettmer following their award-winning Royal Court production Are You Watching?
Performed by a company made up of army veterans and actors, War Face is a funny, frank and deeply moving look beyond the uniform we think we know.
Commissioned by the Genesis Foundation through the Genesis Next Generation Programme at the Royal Court.
Georgie is this year's recipient of the Jerwood New Playwright accolade. The Royal Court Theatre’s Jerwood New Playwright Programme is supported by Jerwood Foundation.
