“There is no more important theatre in the world than the Royal Court. Its commitment to making theatre that is challenging and daring has defined and constantly reinvented the entire theatre ecology. There is a commitment to supporting writers at the heart of the work that is exceptional”
Simon Stephens, Associate Playwright
The Royal Court is the writers’ theatre. We exist to cultivate writers – undiscovered, emerging and established. We create restless, alert, provocative theatre about now. We open our doors to the unheard voices and free thinkers that, through their writing, change our way of seeing.
We need your support to continue to work with writers during these challenging times. With our doors closed since March 2020, we have lost a third of our income from ticket sales but we work each day to continue supporting and nurturing our writers to ensure they can continue to create ground-breaking work that challenges us and questions the world around us.
As we plan to reopen this November 2020 with Living Newspaper, we are on a mission to raise £100,000 to ensure the Royal Court’s future. Please consider donating today to Support the Court as we look to 2021 and beyond. Get involved with the campaign here.
