“There is no more important theatre in the world than the Royal Court. Its commitment to making theatre that is challenging and daring has defined and constantly reinvented the entire theatre ecology. There is a commitment to supporting writers at the heart of the work that is exceptional”
Simon Stephens, Associate Playwright
The Royal Court is the writers’ theatre. We exist to cultivate writers – undiscovered, emerging and established. We create restless, alert, provocative theatre about now. In today’s world, our mission is more important than ever before; we must be unflinching and keep taking risks to find stories from everywhere and create theatre for everyone.
We need your help to continue supporting and nurturing our writers to create ground-breaking new work that challenges and questions the world around us. Throughout the pandemic, we have continued to deliver all our development programmes for writers here in the UK and around the world, our International projects, our work for, and with, young people in schools and in the community.
As we deliver Living Newspaper to you online and plan the reopening of our theatre later this year, join us and be a part of the Royal Court’s future.
