Introduction by Susan Wokoma:
Billy Barret, Ellice Stevens and Frew make up the team behind After the Act.
Billy is a director and writer. He is co-founder of the devised theatre company Breach Theatre, whose productions he directs and co-writes
Outside of the company, Billy directs new writing and solo performance, as well as work in drama schools. He previously worked as a theatre critic for publications including The Scotsman, and is currently writing a book about theatre companies.
Ellice is a writer, theatre-maker, performer and also a co-founder of Breach Theatre. As a writer, she has co-written all of Breach’s theatrical shows.
Ellice’s performance credits for the company include It’s True, It’s True, It’s True and Artemisia on Trial. Outside of the company, she has worked as a devisor and performer with companies such as The Handlebards and Barrel Organ.
FREW is a Composer and Musical Director, with over 10 years experience working in theatre at venues such as The Globe, Sheffield Crucible,The Royal Exchange, National Theatre, Bush Theatre, Birmingham REP, Paines Plough Roundabout and with companies such as Breach Theatre and Middle Child Hull.
Exploring a defining moment in LGBTQ+ history, After the Act played at the Royal Court following an acclaimed national tour, in May 2025.
