Introduction by Susan Wokoma:
Nina Segal is a playwright and screenwriter. Her work includes In the Night Time (Before the Sun Rises) and Shooting Hedda Gabler. Nina is currently an associate playwright at the Royal Court Theatre, and is developing work with the Royal Opera House and the Chichester Festival Theatre.
Melanie Wilson is an inter-disciplinary performance maker. Her acclaimed work is founded on the dialogue between sound, experimental forms of composition, language, technology and live performance. As a writer, performer, sound artist and composer Melanie has collaborated with artists and companies across theatre, film, opera, installation, architecture and choreography.
Together with director Katie Mitchell, Nina and Melanie make up the team of co-creators behind Cow | Deer, a new experiment in performance, in which using only sound and no words, a quartet of performers and Foley artists evoke the lives of two animals – a cow and a deer.
