Playwrights April De Angelis, Clint Dyer and Chris Goode have been commissioned to each write and perform political broadcasts on behalf of their own political parties.
April De Angelis' plays at the Royal Court include Jumpy, Catch, Wild East Hush, and Havana. Her many other plays include A Gloriously Mucky Business, Calais, Country, Amongst Friends, Headstrong, Soft Vengeance, A Laughing Matter, The Positive Hour, Playhouse Creatures, Crux and Ironmistress. Her opera librettos include The Silent Twins, Flight and Die Fledermaus.
Clint Dyer is a director, writer and actor. As a writer his plays at the Royal Court include Emergency (which he also directed) and Lost in Theatre - #5 ART-IST. As a director, his credits include The Westbridge at the Royal Court and Olivier Award nominated show The Big Life at the Apollo Theatre. As an actor on stage, he has worked with Mike Leigh, Michael Attenborough, Jane Howell, Ian Brown, Mike Bradwell, Dawn Walton and Philip Hedley. His TV and film credits include Sus, Unknown, Sahara, Agora, Mr Bean 2 and Hope Springs, Fallout, Trial and Retribution, Dalziel and Pascoe, Inspector Linley and Prime Suspect.
Chris Goode is a writer, director, performer and sound designer. He has won four Fringe Firsts for Monkey Bars (Traverse Theatre, Unicorn Theatre and touring), Men in the Cities (Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh in association with the Royal Court), Neutrino (Soho Theatre/ international tour), and his own solo debut Kiss of Life (Pleasance, Edinburgh/ Drill Hall, London). In 2008 he won the inaugural Headlong / Gate New Directions Award for his production Sisters at the Gate Theatre. His writing credits also include Mad Man, Infinite Lives, GOD/HEAD, The Loss of All Things, Keep Breathing, The Adventures of Wound Man and Shirley, King Pelican and Speed Death of the Radiant Child. Other work includes The Forest & The Field (Ovalhouse), 9 (West Yorkshire Playhouse), a trilogy, Who You Are (Tate Modern), Where You Stand (Contact Theatre, Manchester) and Where We Meet (site-responsive, Edinburgh), Glass House (Royal Opera House) and Longwave (Lyric, Hammersmith).
