Pelaega Vlasova is a middle-aged widow who is unwillingly drawn into the movement by her desire to protect her revolutionary son (Pavel). In doing so she eventually becomes a figurehead and inspiration for the Bolshevik cause.

Set half in the UK and half in the USA, ICE CREAM tells the story of twp couples; an American husband and wife and an English brother and sister. Implicated in each other lives more than any of them would wish, their respective love affairs with each other’s countries prove difficult to sustain.
Lucy Prebble’s first play, THE SUGAR SYNDROME opened at the Royal Court in 2003, for which she won the Critics’ Circle Award for Most Promising Newcomer and the George Devine Award for Most Promising Playwright.
