Lucy Davies Joins Royal Court Theatre as Executive Director

LUCY DAVIES JOINS ROYAL COURT THEATRE AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Chairman of the English Stage Company, Anthony Burton announces today that Lucy Davies has been appointed Executive Director at the Royal Court Theatre.

She will take up her new post in April 2013, joining Vicky Featherstone, when she succeeds the Royal Court’s current Artistic Director Dominic Cooke.

Lucy is currently Executive Producer at National Theatre Wales. She and Artistic Director John McGrath are on the company’s founding executive team, having launched the company in 2009.

She joins the Royal Court with a wide range of experience in theatre, including working as Executive Producer at the Donmar Warehouse. Prior to this she was Head of Studio at the National Theatre under Nicholas Hytner, as well as working as Literary Manager at the Donmar Warehouse in the 90s and a five year stint in the film industry, commissioning, developing and working on feature films. She started her career as an Assistant Director at Kneehigh Theatre.
