Nick Payne's play Constellations has won Best Play at the Evening Standard Awards, it was announced last night (Sunday 25 November), making Nick the youngest ever recipient of the award.

Constellations opened in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs at the Royal Court in January 2012, as part of the Royal Court’s Jerwood New Playwrights programme, supported by the Jerwood Charitable Foundation and has recently transferred to the West End as part of the Royal Court’s season at the Duke of York’s Theatre in partnership with Ambassador Theatre Group.

Starring Rafe Spall and Sally Hawkins, it examines love and loss through quantum multiverse theory.

Constellations will run at the Duke of York’s Theatre until 5 January 2013
