As performer, dance includes: 1985 GLC Break-Dance Champions with Broken Glass Street Crew; European Body-Popping Champion & 2nd in the 1986 World Dance Championships, Soul II Soul

In theatre Benji has worked widely with David Glass Ensemble, Trestle Theatre, Theatr Clwyd and Black Mime Theatre.

Benji is a creative producer, devisor and director. He trained as a dancer with the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and as an actor with David Glass and Double Edge Theatre. Following his years as a freelance performer he formed Breaking Cycles.

For over 25 years Benji has been creating Hip Hop Theatre and physical theatre. His vision as a performer and creative director has made him an award winning and senior contributor to the Black Physical Theatre canon. He has produced and performed over 20 cultural works for leading international cultural institutions led by the National Theatre, Birmingham Rep, PS122 (New York) and Sydney Opera House. Benji is currently Associate Artist at the Royal Exchange Manchester.
