Alessandra is a director, theatre facilitator and photographer originally from Birmingham. She works as an associate artist for the National Youth Theatre and is currently helping deliver their new social inclusion acting course ’Stepping Up’, a level 2 qualification targeted at young people aged 19-24 not in education, employment or training. Alongside this she has been working as a facilitator in local SEN schools delivering theatre training in a relaxed environment. Most recently, Alessandra was assistant director on ‘CARE’, a physical theatre production by The Pappy Show which celebrates our NHS. It was first performed at VAULT festival but has been programmed for future performances as part of The Pappy Show trilogy.
After moving to London, Alessandra set up her own photography business ‘Alessa Davison Photography’ that specialises in rehearsal and production shots. She has worked as a freelance photographer for many theatre companies including Open Door, WoLab, Redgates, The National Youth Theatre REP Company, Playing Up and The Pappy Show. Most recently she has photographed at venues such as Garrick Theatre, Soho Theatre, The Ambassadors Theatre, New Diorama Theatre, VAULT festival, Lyric Theatre (Hammersmith), Café de Paris, The Bunker Theatre, Latitude Festival, The Criterion Theatre and River Stage (National Theatre). She also writes and performs spoken word poetry and her poem ’The Thing About Symmetry’ has recently been published in the LAMDA Verse and Prose Anthology, Volume 19.
