Azade Shahmiri is a writer, theatre director and performance artist based in Tehran. She studied theatre studies at University of Tehran and holds a PhD in art studies. Her artistic practices move between theatre, performance, lecture, and installation, and is closely interwoven with personal narratives, narratives from the past, and notions of reality and documentation. Azade’s works have been shown in various theatres and festivals across Asia and Europe in Tehran, Kyoto, Gwangju, Kerala, Vienna, Zurich, Basel, Edinburgh, Brussels, Berlin, Geneva and Mannheim.
