Flo is from South London, and loves learning about the world through theatre. She works for Lewisham Youth Theatre, expanding on her knowledge of theatre for young people, community engagement and developing her practice as a workshop facilitator. Recently, Flo programmed the Chronic Youth Film Festival at the Barbican Centre. For the weekend-long festival, she has curated an archive film screening and a live poetry, visual art and music event, with the aim to promote acknowledgement of history through the archive. Having studied English Literature and Drama in Manchester where she focused on contemporary British theatre, activist performance, postcolonial literature and theory, as well as directing, Flo moved back to London to apply her academic studies to her creative practice. She is also a volunteer at Chickenshed, supporting the facilitation of children’s theatre workshops. She has ambitions to produce theatre for, and with, young people. Having participated as a member of the Young Company of the Unicorn Theatre, and with Ovalhouse as a teenager, Flo is inspired by the positive impact theatre can have on young people, and in communities, and knows there is always more to learn, and more ways to create theatre for everyone. |
