The Boys' Project: The Undergrowth

Published on Fri 5 May 2017

Over three years The Boys’ Project has engaged young men from council estates all over the UK, including Leeds, Cardiff, Peterborough, Birmingham, Manchester and London. They have created, trained and experimented with art in a political context.

Today this culminated in a performance of The Undergrowth, which had been developed over two weeks in a residency at Hawkwood College, Gloucestershire, and at the Royal Court.

Supported by Gulbenkian, The Boys’ Project was produced by the Royal Court.

The Boys’ Project began three years ago by Bryony Kimmings, a long term art and activism project, exploding media stereotypes and the political marginalisation of the young.
