John Pfumojena (aka John Falsetto) is a Zimbabwean Mbira and Marimba Virtuoso, composer, vocalist, actor and director. He has been an active creative for 23 years and has toured many countries in Africa, South America, North America, Europe and Asia, sharing stages and festival billing with African juggernauts such as Oliver Mtukudzi, Salif Keita, Chiwoniso Maraire, Baaba Mal and Angelique Kidjo. Festival appearances include Victorious, Shambala and Journeys Festivals in the UK, Harare International Festival of the Arts (Zimbabwe), 2nd PanAfrican Festival of Algiers (Algeria), Poetry Festival Konstanz (Germany) and Mwezi Wawala Festival (Malawai).
John is a Visiting Fellow of the University of Oxford, a composer/songwriter with Warner Chappell Music (Warner Music Group), an Associate Artist at Tangle Theatre Company, a Jerwood Live Work Fund Recipient 2021 and a Professional Member of The Ivors Academy.
