Lydia Gratis
Lydia Gratis is a multi-award winning organiser, consultant, cultural strategist and storyteller reshaping how racialised and marginalised Deaf communities are seen, included and centred across movements, media and systems. She is the Founder and Director of Saved By The Sign (SBTS), a Deaf-led social enterprise working at the intersection of racial justice, Deaf advocacy and systemic change through media, advocacy and education.
Teaching includes: Council of Europe (Youth Department), Gallaudet University (Centre for Black Deaf Studies), European Union of the Deaf Youth (EUDY), Trinity College Dublin (Centre for Deaf Studies).
Awards include: Black and Irish Educator of the Year Award, Soirée Des Lumières Prix International, EUDY Honorary Member Award for Contribution to the European Deaf Community.
