Constellations receives 3 Manchester Theatre Award Nominations

Nick Payne’s Constellations has been shortlisted for the Best Visiting Production award at the Manchester Theatre Awards. The winners will be announced Friday 4 March 2016. Louise Brealey and Joe Armstrong also received nominations for Best Actress and Best Actor in a Visiting Production. Constellations was directed by Michael Longhurst and was initially staged at the Royal Court 19 Jan – 11 Feb 2012. It later transferred to the West End in 2012, Broadway in 2014, and Trafalgar Studios in 2015 and toured to eight cities in the UK 14 May – 4 Jul 2015. Also shortlisted is Yen actor Alex Austin, nominated for Best Performance in a Studio Production. Yen by Anna Jordan is to be staged at the Royal Court 22 Jan – 13 Feb 2016.

The Manchester Theatre Awards have been a major fixture on the North West entertainment calendar since 1981 and an important shop window for all that is best in local theatre.
With the enthusiastic backing of the Greater Manchester theatres, an 11-strong panel of some of the most experienced critics in the country, continues an initiative first created by the Manchester Evening News. The awards continue to celebrate the great work that goes on every year in Manchester.
