Royal Court is London Theatre of the Year in The Stage 100

Dominic Cooke has been named as one of the top movers and shakers in The Stage 100 - a list compiled by the newspaper The Stage of the most powerful people in the theatre industry.

Artistic Director of the Royal Court Dominic Cooke has been named as one of the top movers and shakers in The Stage 100 – a list compiled by the newspaper The Stage of the most powerful people in the theatre industry.

Dominic comes in at number two, joint with Artistic Director of the National Theatre Nicholas Hytner and Artistic Director of the Donmar Warehouse Michael Grandage. In top position arte Howard Panter and Rosemary Squire from Ambassador Theatre Group.

The Royal Court has also received the award for ‘London Theatre of the Year’ in the first ever Stage 100 Awards. Described as ‘an extraordinary year for the Royal Court’ with the ‘quality of work exemplary’, Clybourne Park , Tribes, Posh, The Empire , Sucker Punch and Spur of the Moment were all highlighted as the best new plays of 2010.

Deputy Artistic Director Jeremy Herrin is also included in the list of most influential directors, with a special mention going to Anya Reiss’ Spur of the Moment.
