Published on Thu 3 Dec 2020debbie tucker green has adapted and reimagined ear for eye, which ran at the Royal Court Theatre in 2018, for the screen. Produced by Fiona Lamptey for Fruit Tree Media. Executive Producers are Rose Garnett for BBC Film, Farhana Bhula for the BFI, Barbara Broccoli for Eon Productions and debbie tucker green. The film will have a multi-platform release, with a broadcast premiere on BBC Two in Spring 2021.
The ensemble cast, including some of the play’s original castings, includes Lashana Lynch, Tosin Cole, Carmen Munroe, Danny Sapani, Nadine Marshall and Arinzé Kene.
ear for eye follows British and American Black characters of different generations navigating their way through today’s society, offering a timely and critical perspective on the state of the nation. Demonstrations vs direct action, violence vs non-violence, personal vs structural.
ear for eye originally ran in the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Downstairs Thursday 25 October 2018 – Saturday 24 November 2018.
