Martin McDonagh’s Hangmen was honoured in the Theatre category for the 2016 South Bank Sky Arts Awards. Hangmen, directed by Matthew Dunster, opened in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs at the Royal Court in September 2015 and transferred to the West End to the Wyndham’s theatre in December. The transfer of Hangmen was produced by Robert Fox, Matthew Byam Shaw for Playful Productions and Royal Court Theatre Productions.

Celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, the South Bank Sky Arts Awards are the only awards to span the full range of cultural output in the ten categories of Dance, Opera, Comedy, TV Drama, Literature, Classical Music, Pop, Film, Visual Art and Theatre, along with The Times Breakthrough Award which recognises up and coming talent and an Outstanding Achievement Award.
The winners were announced in a ceremony at the London’s Savoy Hotel on Sunday 5th June 2016, and will be broadcast on Sky Arts on Wednesday 8th June.
