Almudena Ramírez-Pantanella, born in 1988 is a playwright, screenwriter  and stage director from Madrid. In 2015 she received the Spanish National Prize Calderón de la Barca for emerging playwrights for the play Los amos del mundo, staged and read in Spain, England and Argentina. She wrote Regurgitar for the Spanish National Institute of the Dramatic Arts and Music and has taken part in several artist-in-residence programmes in France at the National Centre for Performing Arts Writing ‘La Chartreuse’ in Villeneuve Lez Avignon. Her plays have been published, staged and produced. Her last play Quirófano premiered at the National Drama Centre in Spain.

She is currently working as a screenwriter for Netflix show Money heist and preparing the direction of her first screenplay based on her play La gran máquina.
