Lucy Kirkwood's Maryland to be presented at WOW Festival, in the Queen Elizabeth Hall, on Sunday 13 March 2022

Lucy Kirkwood’s Maryland will be presented as part of this year’s WOW – Women of the World Festival. The script-in-hand performance will take place in the Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre on Sunday 13 March 2022, 2pm.

Maryland is produced by the Royal Court Theatre where it premiered to sold-out audiences in autumn 2021.

Kirkwood’s play is an urgent, extraordinary, communal rallying cry in response to the normalising of horrific actions being committed against all women and victims of gendered violence. This script-in-hand performance is co-directed by Milli Bhatia, Vicky Featherstone and Lucy Morrison, and will be followed by a panel discussion with members of the creative team.

The script-in-hand performances were co-directed by Royal Court Associate Directors Milli Bhatia and Lucy Morrison and Royal Court Theatre Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone.
