In her first summer at the helm of the Royal Court Theatre, new Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone staged Open Court, a six week festival of plays, ideas and events chosen and suggested by a group of over 140 writers.

On 20 July it came to an end, having staged 40 new plays in 133 performances, by 146 writers, performed by 93 actors to an audience total of 14,600 with 45% of people visiting the Royal Court for the first time.
