In the Bookshop with… Ryan Calais Cameron is the next episode in the Royal Court’s ongoing digital series. Ryan Calais Cameron wrote and directed For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When The Hue Gets Too Heavy, which played in the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Downstairs from 31 March to 7 May 2022.

A collaboration between the Royal Court and Concord Theatricals, the In the Bookshop with… series provides a unique insight into the literary and theatrical inspirations behind Royal Court programmed playwrights.

In this episode, Calais Cameron picks out some of the plays and playwrights from the Royal Court’s Samuel French bookshop that have inspired, moved and impacted him.
