ROYAL COURT WINS TWO OLIVIER AWARDS

The Royal Court was recognised in two categories at Sunday's 40th Olivier Awards ceremony.

Martin McDonagh won Best New Play and Anna Fleischle won Best Set Design both for Hangmen.

Hangmen was directed by Matthew Dunster and first opened at the Royal Court’s Jerwood Theatre Downstairs 10 September 2015. It later transferred to the Wyndham’s theatre for a sold out run 1 December 2015 – 5 March 2016. The transfer of Hangmen was produced by Robert Fox, Matthew Byam Shaw for Playful Productions and Royal Court Theatre Productions.

The winners were announced in a ceremony at the Royal Opera House on Sunday evening.
The Royal Court received four nominations in total, including Best Director for Matthew Dunster and Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre for Gary Owen’s Violence and Son.
