Simon Leak announced as Winner of Theatre Local Photography Competition 2011

Congratulations to Simon Leak, winner of the Theatre Local Photography Competition 2011.

Simon Leak’s picture of the Rye Lane fishmonger took top prize, winning a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ45 Hybrid Super Zoom digital camera, a Billington Camera Bag, an A1 size professional print and having his print published in the South London Press.
All entries submitted were on the theme What does local mean to you? and Simon (a full-time father from Peckham) said he “decided to go down [his] local highstreet to take photos of the shops”.
The competition was judged by professional photographer, Keith Pattison who said “For me, photography is at its best when it does not impose the ‘process’ on the subject…Simon achieves this with understated skill.”
