Speech Debelle Releases New Music Video At Royal Court Theatre

Terms & Conditions is the latest track from Speech Debelle’s soul-searching third album Tantil Before I Breathe; which will be released in September. Directed by Ed Sayers, the Terms & Conditions short film features BAFTA winning actress Georgina Campbell (Murdered By My Boyfriend) alongside Speech Debelle and incorporates the live audience of a special one-off show at the Royal Court Theatre.
Terms & Conditions is produced by Wayne Lotek, written and co-produced by Nick Trepka and Speech Debelle, with backing vocals by Shingai Shoniwa (Noisettes) and Miss Baby Sol.

Comenting on her latest project, Speech explains;

“We go back and forth like tennis and, although it’s another person, it’s really reflecting a relationship I had with myself – and Ed came up with the idea of us mirroring, which features throughout the video. We wanted it to be as though you can’t tell what’s reality and what’s fantasy.”

“I didn’t consider the terms and conditions of a relationship before I walked into one. We click ‘Yes’ when it says ‘Have you read the terms and conditions?’ but we don’t even skim read. I was getting into relationships with people without having the energy of the last person removed and allowing myself enough time to heal from the process – and I hadn’t even read my own terms and conditions, let alone considered the other person’s.”
