Following this, nine of the original playwrights worked with a group of directors to develop their plays, seven of which were shown as part of a new writing festival in Bangalore. Following the success of this project, Phyllida Lloyd and Carl Miller ran a second residency in Mumbai in 2002. Nine plays were fully produced as part of the first new writing Festival in Mumbai in 2004. In June 2005, the Royal Court in collaboration with Tamasha Theatre Company, invited four of the nine writers to work on new plays with us in London, including Anupama Chandrasekhar whose plays, Free Outgoing and Disconnect have been produced in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs in 2007 and 2010 respectively. Free Outgoing later transferred to the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs and the Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh. In 2006, Phyllida Lloyd and Carl Miller returned to Mumbai to work with a new group of writers from all over India, in collaboration with Rage Theatre. Eleven of these plays were produced as part of the second Writers' Bloc Festival in Mumbai in January 2007. h2. Current work February 2010 saw Anupama Chandrasekhar's Royal Court commissioned play, "Disconnect": royalcourttheatre.devspace.net/whats-on/disconnect open in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs. In October 2010, Elyse Dodgson, April de Angelis and Carl Miller will return to Mumbai to work with a new group of emerging playwrights, again in collaboration with Rage Theatre.
