1920s New York. Machines by day, jazz by night – big new sounds
fill a brave new world. With new wealth and new opportunities
for women, “Miss A†escapes her poor background, gets an office
job in a skyscraper, marries the boss. Perfect. Until a sexual
awakening in a downtown bar sends her on a one-way path to
love – with disastrous consequences.
Final year students from one of the UK's top drama schools
present this seminal play of the 1920s written by the
campaigning American journalist, Sophie Treadwell.
The Oxford School of Drama is based in Woodstock and trains
actors for the profession. Graduates of the School can currently
be seen on stages across the UK including at the Royal
Shakespeare Theatre, National Theatre, Royal Court, Soho Theatre,
Bush Theatre and Chichester Festival Theatre; on television, in
feature films and also on the radio.
