Young Playwrights Award

Are you a young writer with a story to tell? Then the Young Playwrights Award is for you! We’re looking for exciting new voices, and we want to help you try new things and develop your skills. ENTER HERE!

The competition is now open for entries until 2nd May 2025. If you win, your play will be performed at the Royal Court in July – and published by Nick Hern Books! You can also access creative resources and a video course to help every writer’s journey, whether solo or with your school or group.

We are also offering a free, in-person workshop at the Royal Court on Tuesday 15 April – find out more. 

For our pilot year in 2025, the Award is open to any 13-18 year-old living or attending education in Greater London.
