Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting announces 2017 judging panel and submission deadline

Broadcaster and journalist Kirsty Lang will chair the 2017 judging panel for the Bruntwood Prize for playwriting. She will be joined by award-winning screenwriter Russell T. Davies, previous winner Phil Porter, stage and screen writer Lucy Prebble, director Lyndsey Turner, award-winning actor Don Warrington, Royal Exchange Theatre Associate Director Matthew Xia and Michael Oglesby CBE, Chairman of Bruntwood.

The Royal Court has committed to co-producing the 2017 winner alongside the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester.

Katherine Soper’s Wish List was the winner of last year’s prize and is currently playing in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs at the Royal Court after a successful run at the Royal Exchange Theatre.

The competition is open to anyone over the age of sixteen, in the British Isles.

Submissions close 5^th June 2017.
