Theresa Dauncey

Theresa has more than 30 years experience in the charity sector and has been CEO of The National Brain Appeal since 2005. She took up the role when her late husband was undergoing treatment at the hospital the charity is dedicated to raising vital funds for, The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Working closely with the hospital’s clinical and research staff she has led the charity to fundraise for many projects, including the UK’s first Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases, the UK’s first Brain Tumour Unit and the UK’s first interventional MRI operating theatre for neurosurgery use, enabling real time scanning of the brain and spine during surgery to enable greater accuracy and safer surgery.
