Outside Edge Theatre Company is the UK’s only theatre company and participatory arts charity focused on improving the lives of people affected by any form of addiction, including their families, carers and champions. For the past twenty years OETC has produced theatre productions about issues related to addiction, from substance misuse to problem gambling, and provided free drama workshops to help people make healthier choices and support their recovery maintenance.
The Royal Court partnership with Outside Edge has supported the pilot of an intermediate script writing group: Write Two. Write Two was split into two Cohorts.
Cohort One began in the Autumn and was led by Chris Thorpe and supported by Flo Dessau. The group are sharing 10-minute extracts of their full-length plays, that they developed with dramaturgical support from Flo Dessau, Ellie Fulcher, Ellie Horne and Nkechinyere Nwobani-Akanwo.
Cohort Two began working at the start of 2022, with sessions led by Hamish Pirie and Monsay Whitney, and supported by Jonny Price.
