An afternoon of new work from Palestine and discussions about recent developments.

The Royal Court has been working with playwrights and theatre

companies from Palestine since 1995. This afternoon of new work and discussion will be introduced by Afif Safieh, The Palestinian General Delegate.

The programme features a reading of BETHLEHEM DIARIES, the daily accounts of everyday life in the West Bank by pupils from Terra Sancta School for Girls in Bethlehem. First performed by the girls themselves in collaboration with Inad Theatre Beit Jala, directed by Raeda Ghazaleh.

Followed by a discussion:

THE INTIFADA: WHAT CHANGED?

Chaired by Katharine Viner, Editor of The Guardian Weekend.

Panel includes: George Galloway MP, Dr Ghada Karmi, Omar Al-Qattan,

Afif Safieh, Raeda Ghazaleh.

On 1 March 2002 the same panel took part in a lively and provocative

discussion at the Royal Court. Now two years on, we have invited the panel to meet again and examine the changes in the situation and in their points of view.
