Be a part of the Royal Court's Future
Since our foundation in 1956 the Royal Court has been a game-changer – a pioneer challenging the status quo and pushing boundaries. Our mission has never been so important.
Thank you to everyone who donated to our Support the Court 2020 campaign, we are incredibly grateful for your generosity and loyalty.
As we enter 2021 and navigate the new challenges that face us with our doors being closed once again, your ongoing support remains as crucial as ever. You can donate to the Royal Court below and to find out more about the different ways in which you can get involved, click here.
Since March 2020, our iconic theatre has been closed and we have had to pause the production of work on stage. Like so many, we are facing a challenge like no other in our history but despite all of this, we remain true to our mission to support writers.
Thanks to the generosity of so many of you, our audiences, our supporters, and Arts Council England we have continued to work with playwrights in the UK and across the world, listening, supporting, and encouraging them to continue with their work.
Our recently announced Living Newspaper will bring the Royal Court out of the dark and is the first step in our reopening and recovery. By choosing to Support the Court, you will enable us to open our doors (both in Sloane Square and virtually) and help us emerge stronger from these difficult times.
So far we have committed to working with over 60 writers and through the project we will work with a whole host of technicians, stage managers, designers, lighting designers, sound designers, choreographers and over 50 actors, including casting a 2020 drama graduate as part of the acting company for each weekly Edition.
With your help we can once again tell those unheard stories and collaborate with a wide community of freelance artists, safely welcoming audiences back to our building to engage with the work of today’s best writers.
Donate today to help us re-open our doors with the Living Newspaper and look ahead to 2021 and beyond, ensuring we can continue to take risks and remain a critical part of our cultural landscape.
We know this is a difficult time for many people and if you were able to consider a donation of any size, we would be incredibly grateful. Your support will make a difference and to make it go even further, every £1 raised will be doubled thanks to a matched funding pot generously donated by our Board and Development Council.
We are suggesting donations from £50 but would of course be grateful for any donation you choose to make. You can make a gift of any size by clicking here or click on one of the gift options below.
