2018 Tonic Awards Recipients Announced
Published on Tue 20 Mar 2018The recipients of the 2018 Tonic Awards were announced at a ceremony in London last night. The awards celebrate the achievements of women and female-led organisations in theatre.
Caryl Churchill received an award for consistently daring to defy form, leading the way for a new generation of female playwrights and breaking down walls within the theatre industry. Churchill’s recent work at the Royal Court includes Escaped Alone, Far Away, A Number and Love and Information.
Other recipients included Anatomy of a Suicide director Katie Mitchell – for her game-changing artistic work – while Royal Court Artistic Director Vicky Featherstone was among the presenters.
