Jez Butterworth's The Ferryman Wins Four Tony Awards Including Best Play

The Ferryman by Jez Butterworth has won four awards at this year’s Tony Awards, including Best Play, Best Direction of a Play for Sam Mendes, and Best Costume Design of a Play and Best Scenic Design of a Play for Rob Howell.

It was nominated for nine awards in total, including Lead Actor in a Play for Paddy Considine, Lead Actress in a Play for Laura Donnelly, Featured Actress in a Play for Fionnula Flanagan, Lighting Design in a Play for Peter Mumford and Sound Design in a Play for Nick Powell.

The Ferryman ran at the Royal Court Theatre Jerwood Theatre Downstairs Monday 24 April 2017 – Saturday 20 May 2017. It was then followed by a transfer to the Gielgud Theatre on London’s West End and then to Broadway.

The Ferryman was developed by and co-produced with Sonia Friedman Productions and in association with Neal Street Productions.
