The Royal Court Theatre’s production of The Pride by Alexi Kaye Campbell won the Olivier award on Sunday for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre.

Directed by Jamie Lloyd with Bertie Carvel, JJ Feild, Lyndsey Marshal and Tim Steed, The Pride opened in the Jerwood Theatre Upstairs at the Royal Court in November 2009.

Royal Court plays made up three of the four nominees in the category. Scarborough by Fiona Evans and the cast of Oxford Street by Levi David Addai were also nominated, with Clive Rowe the only non-Royal Court nominee.

Alexi Kaye Campbell also won the Critics Circle award for Most Promising Playwright in January 2009, following the success of The Pride.
