The Script Panel

The Royal Court Script Panel is an 8-week course for people who are interested in theatre and developing new plays.
Script Panel will provide a space for reflective discussion and analysis of plays. As part of the course, you will learn how to write script reports and provide positive, critical feedback to writers. No previous experience of script reading or dramaturgy is necessary.
This year Script Panel will take place online over Zoom, and weekly sessions will be facilitated by the Royal Court Participation and Literary departments. Script Panel will run on Thursday nights from 6-8pm and the first session will take place in February 2021. Applications are open to those 16+ living in the UK and Ireland. 20 places are available and the course is free to attend.
As part of our Script Panel, participants will:
  • Learn about dramaturgy, and how dramaturgy is used at the Royal Court Theatre
  • Develop skills in giving written feedback on plays, including writing script reports
  • Read and engage in conversations about a range of plays at different stages of development
  • Creatively engage with theatre professionals such as writers, directors, designers and dramaturgs, and learn how they work and think about playtexts
